This wonderful piece of petrified wood was mined in the Indonesia, it is very rare to find this size and quality. It weighs in at a hefty, 6 pounds, Wow!! and it measures 10 inches long, 6 inches wide and 2 inches thick. Everything about this petrified wood is beautiful it size and shape are perfect for your altar of shrine or just for display you will not be disappointed by this specimen.
In the late Tertiary period, blankets of rainforest surrounding volcanoes were plentiful throughout Indonesia. After volcanic eruption these trees were buried by ash and lava eliminating any microbes that would rot the wood, the wood was replaced with silica rich minerals such as chalcedony, quartz, calcite, opal and jasper. The beautiful colors in the wood come from assorted trace elements. This petrified wood from Indonesia is millions of years old.
