Prehnite is named for Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, the Dutch military officer who first discovered the mineral in 1774.
It is my absolute pleasure to pass this fine specimen along.
Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral with a vitreous luster.
It ranges in color from light yellow to green and has an orthorhombic crystal system.
It has been hand selected for its quality.
This a lovely specimen is from my personal home collection of crystals and gemstones- I am not holding any back all hand selected for their beauty and display-ability and privately owned by me :)
