Let's continue on our minor arcana tarot journey, with the suit of cups. Β The Four cards in general can be tricky, in tarot, because we are progressing along a path of advancement. Β 4 is a furtherance on our emotional cups journey, after we have felt the initial spark (ace of cups), the joining together in harmony (two of cups), and the building and expansion (three of cups)...

4 is a solid and structured card, and it is easy to get stuck, because of this newfound sense of stability, emotionally speaking, since it is the suit of cups.

But there is also a sense of discontent lurking beneath the surface. Β Not feeling totally satisfied, wanting more, yet not ready to venture beyond the safe structure that we've built.

Emotionally, with the 4 of cups, there is a stubborn feeling of not being open to new expansion, it could indicate a lack of excitement, interest, but also an unwillingness to change. Β

If we get stuck in the 4 of cups energy, we may start to feel bitter or disgruntled, but it's important to look at the underlying emotional need that keeps us locked in this state, the need for emotional stability and security.

It is okay to enjoy the comfort and dependability that the 4 of cups brings. Β The Journeyer gets to keep all the lessons and blessings of each card as they evolve onto the next phase. Β This is a voyage the Hero is on, nothing good is ever lost, every experience adds to the tapestry of life. Β It's okay for the Hero to move forward, and it's okay to stay where they are for as long as needed. Β

Stay tuned for our next minor arcana card, the 5 of cups! Β
