Finally, after 7 years of wandering the woods, determined to find his wife and child, the King arrives at the Inn, and is greeted by the woman in white, who welcomes him inside. Β 

He was so tired that he laid down, and the woman in white placed a veil over his face while he slept. Β He fell into the deepest sleep, and gradually the veil slipped from his face.

Standing over him was a woman and child. Β The Queen said, "I am your wife, and this is your child." Β Although the King wanted to believe that, he didn't understand how it could be possible that the Queen had hands.

"Through my travels, and the care I have been given here, gradually, my hands have grown back." Β 

The woman in white brought the silver hands to the King, that had been stored in a trunk for safe keeping. Β 

The King embraced his wife and child, and there was a great feast in the forest that day. Β 

Later that evening, the King, Queen, and child returned to the castle and the old mother. Β They held a second wedding, and had many more children, and lived happily ever after....
