The Seven of Wands is a card of strong determination.  Again, with another odd numbered card, the hero is being challenged.  There is a confict happening, as a result of your recent success.

There will be those who will oppose your success, and this a time when you must hold firm to your convictions, and not be shaken by outer opinions.

The hero is being called to defend himself, as is depicted by the cliff, and the wands encircling the hero.  At this stage the hero is definitely fighting a battle again, and he is not going to waver.  He must protect himself from the attack that is being waged against him.

The hero remains undisturbed and unshaken, despite the turbulence around him.  His clarity is internal.  Nothing from the outside world can push him.  This is a powerful card because the Hero is unbendable, even when tested and pushed.

The Hero feels the need to protect his recent success (the six of wands.)  Whenever we create something new and beautiful, there will always arise a negative force to oppose the new creation, and that is why the hero must be aware that the battle is coming, even before it starts.

In this way, he stays vigilant and prepared, and is not easy to catch off guard.  These cards of battling are not negative, they are a necessary part of creation.  For every force that arises, there will be an equal and opposite force.  Don't be disturbed at this, it's time to rise to the occasion!
