Welcome back to our hero's journey.  After meeting the Hierophant, we have arrived at The LOVERS tarot card, one of the most beloved cards in this series!  It is the first card to appear with two people in it, signifying a shift in the hero's journey from being solo, to having partnership.

The signifigance of the Lovers card makes a profound impact on our life, and alters our journey.  The idea of having a Lover, someone other than us, who completes us in a sense, is a powerful concept.  

The Lovers come together and fill in all the voids and deficits that we feel we have.  The Lovers heal each other through their empathy, caring, understanding of each other, sharing all the parts of themselves, the hidden aspects can come to the light and we feel a sense of completion that we could not find on our own.

The Lovers come together in a divinely ordained way, usually when one is least expecting it.  Our whole world changes, how we see ourself changes, and when the two Lovers come together, a third energy is created, the union of Love that they share.

The Love that is shared by the Lovers creates an energetic shield around them, and protects them from lower energies.  

When the Lovers card appears in a reading, it can also signify the need to make a choice, between two paths.  And the guidance of this card, is to follow your heart, because whatever path you choose, there is an alternate path that you did not take, and your heart will tell you which path is right for you.
